June saw the 1 year anniversary of my work here in Hove Enterprise Centre.

Shortly after opening I began work on the debut album by Brighton favourites Clowns (seen above). "The Artful Execution of Macho Bimbo" is to see release on Bleeding Hearts Records before the end of the year.

In September, my continuing association with Future Music began, for whom I have since judged the auditions and the regional finals for Open Mic & Teen Star 2013. Artists I had the pleasure of working with following these events include Victoria BassJordan Bradley, Ella CroucherLucie Francis, The Jems, Amy Marsden & Mia Williams-Watson. I expect you will become more commonly aware of at least one of these artists in the following year or two. Former winners of these competitions include Birdy, Luke Friend & Lucy Spraggan. In September this year, I will be doing the same for Open Mic 2014, with auditions held at The Hove Centre on the 20th of September. If you'd like to get involved, head over to the Open Mic UK site to find out more.

In between recording and mixing bookings, I have been running limited rehearsals to bands that I'm acquainted with, including the aforementioned Clowns, the astonishingly busy Queen tribute group Rhapsody and, occasionally, Brighton up-and-comers Prince Vaseline. This year I will be opening up to public rehearsals for the first time. There are many reasons to choose Hidden Cam for your rehearsals, all of which you can discover on the Rehearsals page. Number one has to be the free parking directly in front, or possibly the fact that there's only one band in here at any one time? You can make your own mind up on that one.

I'm not certain what 2014/2015 will bring, but if it's anything like the first year it's going to be an exciting time!
